I'm an Economy Class cattle, unfortunately. 
The only chance I'll ever get into 1st or
Business Class would be if someone were to collapse there and I'll
respond in my capacity as a Nurse.
That's one of the reason that kinda deters me from moving to the
United States. I think of the bloody long flight back to
Singapore in horribly cramped conditions and I feel like
screaming! 
can you zzz during flights? i usually knock off for duration of
flight - i even managed that on the low cost airline eg air asia -
most peeps complain about the seats/leg room etc. nope, i didnt
even take a sedative.
well another way of upgrading would be to find a tall tall tall
companion and when they can't slot him on the emergency exit seats
(coz all taken very early on), they upgrade him to biz class. as
companion/GF/wife, you "can't bear to be apart from your
darling"...they move you up as well. my sis's tactic! since my
bro-in-law = super tall
